Sheer Perfection Mini Treat Bag Gift Card Holder

Sheer Perfection Vellum Mini Treat Bag Gift Card Holder by Stampingville. #papercrafts #cardmaking #stampinup

I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack - one of the four bonus products offered for Sale-a-bration this year. The "stack" is actually a 6" x 6" pad of printed vellum paper with 12 different designs; 24 sheets total.

The beautiful sample Stampin' Up! designed (featured in the flyer) really inspired me. I think they said the Mini Treat Bag held a card, but I decided to turn mine into a gift card holder with a pull-out tag conveying a message of thanks.

Stampin' Details:

  • After die-cutting the vellum using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and the Big Shot, assembly only takes a minute or two.
  • Stampin' Write Markers are used to color in the vellum. (I only colored the front.)
  • A second vellum design, backed with Whisper White cardstock, is used to create a pocket for the tag and the pieces are secured together using Mossy Meadow thick twine from the Sale-a-bration In Color Accessory Pack.
  • The pocket is adhered to the Treat Bag using narrow strips of Stampin' Dimensionals on three sides. There is just enough room for the tag to slide in and out!

No fussy cutting required! The Pansy Punch crops these flowers perfectly. #cardmaking #papercrafts #Stampinup

  • Two flowers, from the Flower Shop stamp set, are stamped using Hello Honey ink and cropped using the coordinating Pansy Punch. After curling the flowers slightly, they are adhered to the tag pocket.

Simple and pretty Thank You tag. #papercrafts #cardmaking #StampinUp

  • To create the tag, images from the Because You Care (Occasions Catalog) hostess stamp set were stamped on Whisper White cardstock and cropped with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
  • The tag is adorned with Rhinestone Jewels and Hello Honey Satin Stitched Ribbon.

Simple gift card holder with vellum bag. #papercrafts #cardmaking #StampinUp

  • For the gift card holder inside, I create a small top-folding card (3-1/2" x 5"). The front is stamped with an image from the Because You Care stamp set and adorned with Rhinestone Jewels.
  • The Mossy Meadow die-cut letters ("for you") are created using a die included with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.

Easy gift card holder with embellished vellum bag. #papercrafts #cardmaking #StampinUp

  • Inside the card, a simple border (Because You Care stamp set) is stamped in Blackberry Bliss across the bottom of the card.
  • The gift card itself is attached to the card using washi tape.

The finished project is very sweet and will be a great way to give thanks with a little gift card tucked inside.

Final days of Sale-a-bration! The sale-a-bration ends tomorrow (March 31), so that means just 48 hours left to get your favorite free products before they disappear.

Reminder: All sale-a-bration items will retire at the end of the promotion and will not appear at a later date on the Clearance Rack.

You know the drill: Choose one free Sale-a-bration product for every $50 you spend. Orders of $150 or more also qualify for Stampin' Rewards/Host Dollars to spend any way you please. SHOP NOW.

You Brighten My Day, Little House Punch

Hello You Brighten My Day - cute card using punches and dies. #cardmaking #papercrafts #Stampinup

Last spring, when demonstrators got to see the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog for the first time, I was so excited when I got to the section with decorative punches.

"Yay, a house punch!" I squeeled.

Everyone wanted to know where and I quickly pointed to the What's Up Punch.

Stampin' Up! What's Up Punch product image
"Um ... no, dear. Those are arrows."

Just imagine my disappointment. Not to mention I was feeling a tad embarrassed as well. I was so sure that was a cute little house punch.

We all had a good laugh at my "mistake" and everyone assured me I could punch arrows and call them houses all day long if that's what made me happy.

Well, look who's laughing now. That's right, it's me.

Hahahahahahaha.

Stampin' Up! created the You Brighten My Day stamp set exclusively for Sale-a-bration and it has a ...  wait for it  ...

cute little house stamp that fits the arrow punch.

So there.

Told you it was a house.

Oh, and it's free. I can't seem to recall the last time someone gave me a free house. Thank You, Stampin' Up!

You Brighten My Day stamp set for Sale-a-bration 2015. House image matches arrow punch! #papercrafts #cardmaking #StampinUp

Stampin' Details:

  • A panel of Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper is sponged with Soft Sky ink to bring out twinkling stars over the house.
  • The panel is die-cut with a Circle Framelit and "hello" Thinlit in one quick pass through the Big Shot.
  • The house image is stamped on Hello Honey cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
  • Cropping the house is a snap with the What's Up Punch (aka house punch. wink, wink.)
  • The sponged panel is adhered to a Baked Brown Sugar card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. The house is adhered with a double stack of Dimensionals to really pop it up.

If arrows happen to be your thing, you might also like the What's Up? stamp set. This set contains 8 images including arrows (go figure) and cute phrases perfect for Project Life pages. It's the stamp set originally designed to coordinate with the What's Up punch.

Simply Wonderful Thanks

Simple thank you card with Simply Wonderful stamp set by Stampin' Up! #cardmaking #papercrafts #stampinup

What can you do with the Simply Wonderful stamp set? How about creating a simple (and wonderful) thank you card. Perfect for a quick creative fix or when you're super short on time and need a card fast.

Stampin' Details:
  • The Simply Wonderful stamp set is one of the free exclusive gifts available only during Sale-a-bration.
  • The card base is Kraft cardstock. I love Crumb Cake cardstock, but this Kraft paper is the real deal.
  • The striped patterned paper is from the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper collection.
  • By using the same color ink as the patterned paper, the greeting is coordinated in every way. Love that.
  • Subtle hearts stamped with VersaMark help to express your appreciation. (And they look so sweet!)
  • For a simple embellishment that goes with everything, you can always count on White Baker's Twine.
The inspiration for my card came from the simple thank you card featured in the Stampin' Up! catalog on page 72. Every time I browse through the catalog, I spot something new even though I've looked through it a million times. And every time, I find at least 20 projects I want to make. right. now.

This pretty Easter card is perfect for the spring flower lover on your list. Have you seen the gorgeous designs in the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper collection? Here's a fun fact about that patterned paper: each of the 12 designs was originally hand-painted by the artist and then reproduced.

Stampin' Up! Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Collection #papercrafts #stampinup #cardmaking

  • Hand-painted tulips create a colorful background to set the flowery tone for this card.

  • The ribbon is placed over a panel of Blackberry Bliss cardstock accented using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.
  • The Crazy About You Bundle allows you to create hundreds of greetings, including happy Easter.

Classic Black & White Congrats Card

Clean and simple Congrats card using Simply Wonderful (SAB) stamp set and two punches | Stampingville #cardmaking #papercrafts #stamping #StampinUp

Create this clean and simple congrats card in just minutes using two decorative punches and the Simply Wonderful stamp set (a free Sale-a-bration gift with qualifying purchase). This classic card, in black and white, is perfect for a wedding or perhaps a graduation.

Stampin' details:
  • To isolate the word "congrats", cover the rest of the stamp images using washi tape (or a post-it note). Ink the stamp (I used Whisper White Craft Ink), then carefully remove the tape. Stamp the image as you normally would.
  • I used Chalkboard Paper for the "congrats" banner (love it!), but Basic Black cardstock will work just fine.
  • The full image is stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and cropped using the wide oval punch.

Background layer is punched at both ends with Ornate Tag Topper Punch for elegant detail | Stampingville #cardmaking #papercrafts #stamping #StampinUp
  • The shaped panel behind the sentiment is created using the new Ornate Tag Topper Punch. Starting with a 2" x 4-1/2" strip of Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper, each end is cropped using the punch.
  • Basic Black Baker's Twine is threaded through the holes created by the tag punch. TIP: Use separate pieces of Baker's Twine to tie bows to the original pieces of Baker's Twine.
  • Pearl Basic Jewels give this card one final touch of class.
  • Use a narrow strip of the same patterned paper to add an easy but elegant touch to the envelope.

Good news!
Stampin' Up! has added additional items to the Sale-a-bration free gift selection to replace the discontinued Blendabilities Markers (see previous post to learn more).

(Replaces the Blendabilities, which are no longer available.)

News About Stampin' Blendabilities

Stampin' Blendabilities Markers product image

There have been continued quality issues with the Stampin' Blendabilities Markers product line.  Due to the nature of the defect (see below), Stampin' Up! has concluded that difficulties, dissatisfaction, and product returns will only become more widespread as time goes on.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer is unable to correct the problem in a manner that Stampin' Up! is certain would meet their high quality standards and provide them with a stable, long-term solution. Therefore, after a great deal of deliberation and in order to prevent further disappointment, Stampin' Up! has reached the difficult decision to discontinue the Stampin' Blendabilities product line.

BLENDABILITIES Q & A

Q: Will the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad (item #132708) and the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad Refill (item #133456) still be available for purchase?
A: Yes. These items will continue to be available for purchase.  (Yay! I LOVE the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. It's my go-to black ink pad.)

Q: What are the quality problems with this product?
A: When the tip is welded to the barrel, the welding process can leave microscopic (invisible) holes in the marker tip. This leads to accelerated evaporation of the alcohol in the ink.

Q: Are all Blendabilities markers defective?
A: No. Most Blendabilities markers work as intended and I personally haven't experienced the drying issue but am aware of it from customers and fellow demonstrators.

Q:  What if I have Blendabilities markers that are defective?
A: If you ordered them through me, please contact me for assistance.  If not, please contact the demonstrator you ordered them through. If you have recently received Blendabilities markers, but have not used them yet, please check each marker to ensure they are working properly.

For Peeps' Sake: Easter Mini Treat Bag

For Peeps Sake Mini Treat Bag for Easter. So cute! #papercrafts #Easter #StampinUp

The cute DIY mini treat bag is dressed up for Easter this time and guess what? It's super easy to make!

Stampin' details:

  • The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies + the Big Shot make creating your own little treat bags a snap. All that's left to do is decorate.
  • Use Stampin' Write Markers to ink the images so your chicks will be colorful.
  • Fringe Scissors create a little "grass" strip for the chicks to parade on.

Easy way to frame a punched greeting for emphasis. #cardmaking #papercrafts #Easter #StampinUp

  • The Easter greeting is cropped using the Artisan Label punch, as is a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. The silver one is cut in half and adhered to the back of the greeting.
  • Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper is sponged with Soft Sky ink to create a soft background.
  • Melon Mambo Taffeta Ribbon and a Candy Dot add the finishing touches to this adorable treat holder.

This project was one of several make and takes at a recent gathering of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who all share an up, up, upline by the name of Denise Waddell. Denise attended the Leadership Conference in Orlando and was able to stay a few days longer for this get-together. It's always fun to visit with Denise. Special thanks to Debbie Moczek for this cute Easter Mini Treat Bag idea.

What's a Birthday Without Cake?

Chalkboard look birthday card with Stampin' Up! Big Day stamp set. #cardmaking #papercrafts #StampinUp

The chalkboard trend is still going strong and I love the look. Pairing the Big Day stamp set with Chalkboard Paper makes it super easy to create a chalkboard style birthday card in a snap.

This fun stamp set can be used in a variety of ways for the card front and inside the card as well.

Stampin' Details:

  • Chalkboard paper has a right side and a wrong side! You'll be able to see and feel the difference. Stamping on the "chalkboard side" will give you the results you're looking for.
  • The greeting is stamped using the new Rose Coral Colorbox Chalk Ink Pad. The color appears more subtle on chalkboard paper than it does on Whisper White.
  • The cake and candles were stamped with the Yellow Citrus and Aquamarine  Colorbox Chalk inks on Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut, then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • The cool arrow patterned paper is part of the Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper Stack and it makes a terrific background for this birthday card.

Chalkboard paper + Chalk inks = Great Look! #papercrafts #cardmaking #StampinUp

Like the Big Day stamp set? It's one of the exclusive Sale-a-Bration products offered for a limited time only. Once Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31, the products will be retired and WILL NOT be offered for sale again. Nope - not even on the Clearance Rack.
