Framed Halloween Sampler Decor Piece

Halloween Sampler Decor Piece | Stampingville #Halloween #papercrafts #StampinUp

I know it's a bit last minute, but I wanted to share this cute framed Halloween sampler with you. A few of my stamping friends and I recently spent a fun day creating punch art and stamping Halloween scenes to create a decor piece that can be framed and displayed.

Each scene in the sampler is about 2-1/4" (square) with the overall project designed to fit a 8" x 8" frame. For my piece, after mounting the squares to a 8" x 8" piece of cardstock, I mounted it to a 12" x 12" sheet of patterned paper. The entire piece fits in a natural wood shadowbox type frame, which can be painted or left natural.

The texture and dimension on each square is incredible! We used about 5687496 Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the main images along with each layer. This sampler really pops in real life!

Most of the scenes are fairly self-explanatory, so I'll just share a few close-up shots of a few of the squares. If you have a question, please let me know in the comments. (Note: All supplies are Stampin' Up! but we did use a few retired products on this project.)

Give Thanks For All Things

Crisp fall card of gratitude | Stampingville #Thanksgiving #papercrafts #cardmaking #StampinUp

Don't look now, but November is right around the corner. Egads! How did that happen? Anyhoo ... here is a crisp fall card of gratitude (aka Thanksgiving card) ready for sending to a loved one you are thankful for.

Stampin' details:
  • Popping up a portion of the greeting emphasizes the sentiment. It also helps to draw the eye there, rather than letting the leaves steal the show.
  • The greeting (from the For All Things stamp set) fits perfectly within the Oval Punch.
  • The Artisan Label Punch is ideal for layering behind the oval. Punch just one, cut it in half and spread it out.

Coordinating elements and simple techniques = easy wow

  • The leaves are die-cut from cardstock, strategically folded to mimic real leaves, then crinkled and scrunched for further distressing. A bit of light sponging around the edges and along fold/crinkle lines brings the leaves to life.
  • Lullaby Designer Series Paper isn't just for baby! With colors like Baked Brown Sugar, Hello Honey, and Pistachio Pudding, this patterned paper was a no-brainer for this fall card.
  • The Arrows Embossing Folder mimics the patterned paper and it's a match made in heaven. It's also a nice break from woodgrain everything this time of year.
The random burlap strands might be my favorite thing about this card! See another use for them on this gift tag and how to quickly create them.

Curvy (Pumpkin) Keepsake Box

Super cute "pumpkin" box for Thanksgiving table | Stampingville #StampinUp

Want the cutest Thanksgiving table in town this year? Then you'll want to make these adorable Curvy Keepsake Boxes - dressed up like fall pumpkins - and stuff them full of treats. Or, if Thanksgiving means embracing the gratitude at your house, you could stuff the boxes with thankful quotes or small notes for guests to write what they are thankful for.

To create the little notes, you could stamp them on paper using the I'm Thankful For wood-mount stamp:

Or you could print them out using a digital template like the one found in the Feast of Thanks Digital Ensemble:

Either way it's a fun tradition I've seen grow in popularity over the last several years. Let everyone fill out their list before dinner and then share the gratitude during the meal or afterward while everyone is letting dinner settle before pie.

The Curvy Keepsake Box is super easy to create using the clever new Stampin' Up! Thinlits Die and the Big Shot. You can choose to stamp them or embellish them any way you choose - from simple to ornate - and they will look terrific at each table setting!

Stampin' Details:

  • The two die-cut box pieces were stamped with VersaMark ink using the Flowering Flourishes stamp set.
  • The stamped images were heat embossed with clear embossing powder for a tone-on-tone effect.
  • The "vines" are simply strips of Old Olive cardstock curled using a bone folder.
  • Trendy feathers are everywhere, including this pumpkin! These were die-cut using the new Feathers Framelits Dies. For added texture, they were scored using a bone folder and sponged very lightly around the edges using Early Espresso ink.
  • A heart punched from Gold Glimmer Paper gives our pumpkin a finishing touch with bling.
