Masculine Clockworks Watercolor Card

What fun I had creating this masculine card! I had several ideas in mind to incorporate and my "experiment" turned out purt-near the way I envisioned. Okay, the first card wasn't a winner, but after a few tweaks this card was up to snuff. Hee!

Inspiration for this card came from a) Operation Write Home - with a recent color wash card, plus a challenge this week for masculine cards, and b) Moxie Fab World's Asymmetry Challenge.

To create the color wash background, I lightly rubbed More Mustard ink onto the top corner of a piece of Watercolor Paper using a Stampin' Sponge. And I mean lightly - barely any ink on the sponge!

Next I lightly spritzed the paper with water and using an Aqua Painter and ink pads layered on Garden Green and Marina Mist ink. Again very lightly, using lots of water with just a touch of ink and let it dry between layers plus lots of blending with the Aqua Painter.

The top and center images were stamped and clear embossed; the lower image was stamped only. I spritzed the piece lightly using the Color Spritzer Tool with Marina Mist and Garden Green Stampin' Write Markers.

The timepiece was stamped on Vellum card stock, embossed with Pewter embossing powder and hand cut. I added teeny-tiny bits of Stampin' Dimensionals (behind the embossing), then attached it to the card with a pewter brad.

The greeting is stamped using Basic Gray ink on Naturals Ivory card stock and sponged with More Mustard. I chose the "thinking of you" sentiment to tie in with the timepiece, but this also allows several options to the sender for the inside message: hello, missing you, get well, tough times, etc.  Also, while I designed this with masculine in mind, it's suitable for any gender.

xoxo

Daydream Medallions Hello

Hello, Friend Card with Daydream Medallions Stamp Set

Hello, friend!

I had some fun playing with the Daydream Medallions stamp set and the coordinating Floral Frames Framelits to create today's card. I love this set of Framelits and can't wait to try a bigger version which will look terrific on larger projects and gifts.

For the background piece, I spritzed Summer Starfruit and Soft Suede ink onto Crumb Cake card stock (using Stampin' Write Markers and the Color Spritzer Tool) and sponged the edges with Soft Suede.

The embossed piece, in Cajun Craze, is cut using the Two Tags Die and then embossed using the new Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder from the Holiday Catalog. I love this embossed design. You'll be seeing it a lot from me, I'm sure.

Blossom created with Floral Frames Framelits

The floral focal image uses the three smallest of the set of Framelits along with the appropriately sized stamp images. Each section of the flower is double layered, ends bent upward and is finished off with a Dahlia Adornment. Those Dahlia's are so cute and really trendy right now too.

Sweet Essentials Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

For the sentiment, I combined two greetings from the Sweet Essentials stamp set to create my "hello, friend" greeting using a marker to ink the desired words.

Reminder: The free Spooktacular Project Kit offer expires on Friday, August 31. If you've been considering joining Stampin' Up! don't miss out on this Halloween themed treat. Get all the spooktacular details here. I'd love to have you join me in this awesome adventure.

Hello, Dear Friend

Moving Forward Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Well helloooo crafty friends and happy Friday!

Today's simple card is another one using the Moving Forward stamp set (this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities set). If you missed the previous card, you can see it here. I love the little bicycle image from this set and couldn't resist incorporating a few ideas I've seen on other cards.

I really like this color combination, although I had a heck of a time getting the photography just right. I used Pool Party, Basic Gray, and Calypso Coral. The Calypso Coral really pops against the other colors and it's so pretty. How about you? Like this color combo?

Stampin' Up! Moving Forward Stamp Set

The Basic Gray brads are a cute touch on the wheels and coordinate perfectly. The little basket is cut out and popped up with a Dimensional. The flower image was stamped twice; I used the "lazy masking" technique. Oh, you don't know that one?
Lazy Masking: Instead of cutting out the exact image to use as a mask for stamping, a small scrap of paper found lying nearby is strategically placed over the image as a mask. You're. Welcome.
For quick and easy detail, I ran the Basic Gray card stock strip through the Big Shot using the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder with the hearts. The Large Scallop Edgelit was used for the Calypso Coral scallops.

Have a super weekend!

xoxo

Spooky Bits Halloween Card

Spooky Bingo Bits Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

This card is more cute and fun than it is spooky, but it's sure to delight for Halloween.
I had the punched circles left over from another project and thought this would be a great way to put them to use.

The "spooky" images are from the super versatile Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set. Don't let the name fool you - there are a million and one uses for this 24-piece set. In addition to Bingo*, these images are perfect for cards, scrapbook pages, and decorations. Got treats? These stamps are just the right size for treat bags, boxes, wrappers, toppers ... you name it.

For the card, I simply picked out 12 images, stamped them on Whisper White card stock and cut them out with paper snips. Most of the images are a breeze to cut out, so it only took a few minutes. I attached them to the punched circles using Dimensionals, then glued the circles directly to the card front.

And for the big finale?

Googlie Eyes - new from Stampin' Up!

Thinking of You Card

Moving Forward Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

I've been wanting to create with the Moving Forward Stamp Set for weeks now and I finally had the chance and grabbed it. Moving Forward is this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) stamp set. Each year Stampin' Up! designs an exclusive stamp set and then donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of that set to RMHC.

For my card, I tied Baker's Twine around the top of the card and then hung strips of Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper from the twine to create a bunting. I used my paper-piercing tool to roll the ends of the strips so they would actually hang from the twine.

Sailboat Image - Moving Forward Stamp Set

Next I die-cut a medallion using the Perfect Pennants Die and the Big Shot to layer behind my stamped image. I stamped the focal image several times and paper-pieced to add interest and dimension, with the sail popped up with a Dimensional.

Word Window Punch + Modern Label Punch

The sentiment was cropped using the Word Window punch and then I had an idea. I wanted to "dress up" the word window somehow and played around a bit until I discovered that the punched word window fits perfectly in one of the new Little Labels punches - woot! I layered my dressy word window on a Modern Label and finished it up with colored brads.

If you haven't already, I hope you will purchase this year's RMHC stamp set Moving Forward. When you do, Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to RMHC. I'll be creating with this set again, and of course I'll share those projects with you when I do. You'll find two cute project ideas using the Moving Forward set on page 209 of the Stampin' Up! Catalog, and three more cute projects on the Stampin' Up! website (click here to view now).
