Everybunny Easter Banner

Easter Banner Featuring Everybunny Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Confession: I've never been big on banners. No real reason - just not my thing. UNTIL ... We made that darling CREATE banner at the Stampin' Up! Regional Event in Orlando. THEN ... at Convention last year we made a banner and hung cards from it. Hand stamped greeting cards. On the banner, people! It was way cute. AND ... they had all sorts of cute banners as part of the displays at Convention as well.

So guess who really likes banners now? Of course, not just any ol' banner will do. It probably better have some stamping on it or at least be handmade, and some cute embellishments and ... well, I'm sure you get the picture.

So here is my Everybunny Easter Banner, which by the way is super hard to photograph from a distance. Not to worry ... I've got close-ups! Hee!!

NEW feature:  You can now click on any photo in a post and see a larger version, plus a slide show of all the photos in that post. It's cool - check it out!

I adore the Everybunny stamp set and I've been working on Easter cards too. I'll share those next time. In the meantime, I hope everybunny has a great weekend!

Faith in Nature

Faith in Nature Card of Encouragement

The Faith in Nature stamp set is one of Stampin' Up!'s exclusive hostess reward sets and it is just beautiful. It features delicate lines with a subtle script background, and it's pretty enough to just stamp on its own or dress it up with a touch of watercoloring.

The background panel was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, layered on the card base with Dimensionals, and the entire card base was spritzed with Soft Suede ink. The flower image was stamped and clear embossed, before lightly watercoloring. This process was done twice, with one flower hand cut to layer on top. The top flower was trimmed slightly smaller than the original and the ends slightly curled under. Smooch Illuminate Top Coat gives it just a hint of pearlized shimmer (doesn't show up well in the photos). The flower center was attached with a Dimensional and adorned with a single tiny pearl. The entire piece was sponged with Soft Suede and very lightly spritzed with Soft Suede, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.

Flower Detail Faith in Nature Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

HIP TIP: To emboss the image in Soft Suede (or any other color), it is possible to stamp normally with classic ink and then immediately cover with clear embossing powder (before the ink dries). This technique works best with a more solid type image. As an alternative, ink the image using VersaMark first, then tap the stamp on the Soft Suede ink pad and stamp onto paper. Cover with clear embossing powder, tap off excess, and melt using  the Heat Tool.

Inspiring Quotes Handmade Card Ideas

The sentiment was inked using Soft Suede and Pool Party Stampin' Write Markers to highlight the emphasized words. The piece was sponged with Soft Suede, distressed at the corners just slightly and lightly spritzed to match the floral piece. Behind the sentiment are two Decorative Labels (punched) side by side. To cover the overlap and add decorative interest I cut two flowers from a strip punched with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch.

Tying it all together, I wrapped Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon around the card panel and added a bow tied with wisps of Crochet Trim, Daffodil Delight narrow taffeta ribbon and Pool Party Ruffled ribbon.

In Loving Memory
this card is dedicated

Triple Treat Thank You Card

Hand Stamped Triple Treat Flower Thank You Card

I finally got a chance to play with my new (free) À la Carte stamp - the Triple Treat Flower. It's one of the free Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration selections this year. Did you know there are TWENTY different items to choose from in the Sale-a-bration brochure? It's been very difficult to choose what free items to get. You can view them all here.

Triple Treat Flower Rubber Stamp by Stampin' Up!

The Triple Treat Flower (single rubber stamp) coordinates with the 1/2" Circle, 5-Petal Flower, and Fancy Flower Punches, allowing for a variety of looks with just one stamp. It looks very pretty stamped on its own, but it's really pretty (and a lot of fun) when punched and layered as I've done here.

I'm loving this color combination too - Calypso Coral, Night of Navy, and Daffodil Delight. Coral shades are super trendy right now, popping up all over the place in fashion and home furnishings, not to mention the papercrafting industry. Stampin' Up! is really spot on with their In Color selections.

Happy Friday ... best wishes for a happy (& crafty) weekend!
xoxo

Happy Spring!

Handstamped Springtime Card Idea

I'm thrilled that SPRING is here ... you too? In celebration, I couldn't resist creating a card just for the occasion. Guess I'm not the only one - the ladies over at SUO Challenges offered up a Spring theme this week for their current challenge. I also took a peek at this week's Mojo Monday Sketch and it was a great one, as usual.

Use Die-Cut Lettering on Greeting Cards

Speaking of (sneak) peeks ... These cute and quirky flower images, along with that trendy Tangerine Tango patterned paper, will be featured in the upcoming Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog  (available June 1). The rubber stamp set and Designer Series Paper is part of the Summer Smooches Suite and guess what ... YOU will be able to purchase products from this Suite in April! No waiting around for your summer smooching, no-sir-ee. I'll have complete details on this limited-time promotion coming soon.

Decorative Punched Paper Flower

The cute punched flower is created with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch. I layered two of the three flower shapes, sponged with Tangerine Tango, and held together with a Lucky Limeade Printed Brad. Just for fun, I added a little wisp of Lucky Limeade Organdy Ribbon behind the flower.

Time is running out! Get the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack FREE with any $50 purchase of Stampin' Up! stamping and crafting supplies. Or select another favorite from the brochure. With 20 FREE ITEMS to choose from, there is literally something for everyone.

Happy Spring, y'all!

Cardmaking: Uplifting Words

Hand Stamped Card Idea Encouraging Thoughts

Do you know someone who could use some words of encouragement? Or is there someone who has been on your mind lately? Sending a handmade greeting card, lovingly created and stamped by you, is an awesome way to let someone know how much you care and that you are thinking of them.

Today's card is very simple in design, letting the watercolored image really stand out. With no fussy embellishments, this card is suitable for any gender, for nearly any occasion, and it's perfect for mailing.
Handstamped Watercolor Thinking of You Card

The Medallion background stamp (stamped using VersaMark) provides a subtle backdrop creating interest and dimension. The tiny scallop border adds a nice detail in place of fussier embellishments. The main image is from the Peace Within stamp set, and was watercolored using an Aqua Painter and Classic Stampin' Pads.

A challenge for you:
Create a card to brighten someone's day and send it (or deliver in person) this week. You will be amazed at how good it makes YOU feel too!

Happy Monday - have a great week.
xoxo

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way -
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.
~Author Unknown

I saved the last of our 'shoebox swap' cards for today. Thanks to team member Ruth for her cute design using the Heart to Heart punch.

Happy o'stamping to you this weekend - if you don't eat/drink/celebrate too much and manage to get in a little creative time ;)

And here's a HIP TIP for you, because it's been a while since I've done that:

Never iron a four leaf clover, because you don't want to press your luck.

You're welcome.

Have a great weekend!

Enchanting Easter Card

Heaven Blessed Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

I just love this adorable Easter card, designed by my good friend and swap buddy, Maria. The focal image is from the Heaven Blessed stamp set - a new Easter set featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog by Stampin' Up!  The image was colored using Watercolor Wonder Crayons and a Blender Pen on Very Vanilla card stock and simply cropped with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.

Hand Stamped Easter Card Ideas

The gorgeous patterned paper is the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper - a free Sale-a-bration selection available until March 31. I LOVE this paper. The colors and patterns are stunning and will look beautiful on cards or scrapbook pages or any other project you create. It would be a beautiful choice for Mother's Day projects too. The coordinating Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack (in Lucky Limeade) ties up the card front beautifully along with a Boho Blossom Punch flower.

Handmade Greeting Card Unique Fold

Are you loving this unique fold? It's a simple WOW that is very easily created: The Pool Party card base is standard size (5-1/2" x 4-1/4") with the traditional card front cropped at the halfway point. Inside the card is basically a smaller "card" measuring 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" (finished size) with the fold on the right. The inside of the smaller card contains the greeting and a small image from the set. The smaller card is mounted inside the base card on a piece of Soft Suede card stock.

If you have questions on how to create this card, please let me know in the comments or send me an e-mail. I'll be happy to explain the process in greater detail.

Happy Wednesday - have a great day!

Catching Up With Cards

This week I'll finally be all caught up posting cards from our last team get-together and swap. And I have some original work to share with you as well. While I'm at it ... I have a lot of "catching up" to do with family and friends now that our moving adventure is behind us.

Curly Cute Thinking of You Hand Stamped Card Idea

Wouldn't this Thinking of You card be a great way to keep in touch with someone? I'm sure these pretty flowers would really brighten someone's day.  This card, created by Laura, uses Twitterpated Designer Series Paper die-cut with the Labels Collection Framelits and placed over a Blushing Bride layer embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The flower is created using the Fresh Vintage stamp set (free sale-a-bration gift) for the center, hand cut, and placed over Marina Mist card stock cropped with the new Blossom Punch. You can just see a wisp of Always Artichoke Seam Binding Ribbon for a leaf. The sentiment, from the Curly Cute stamp set, is stamped on a Whisper White banner.

Layered 5-Petal Flower Lattice Thanks Card

This pretty Thank You card, created by Kathy K, uses Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper behind Always Artichoke die-cut with the Lattice Bigz Die and the Big Shot. Basic Rhinestone Jewels give it a bit of bling. The pretty Bravo Burgundy flower is cropped using the 5-Petal Flower Punch, layering three flowers, which were sponged with Bravo Burgundy ink adding a little depth. A gold Glimmer Brad from the Basics Collection adds another bit of bling. The greeting, from the Fundamental Phrases stamp set, is stamped on River Rock card stock and cropped using the Word Window Punch and then layered on Bravo Burgundy cropped with the Modern Label Punch.

Speaking of catching up ... for those of you in the US, are you still getting adjusted to the time change?  I'm good to go and happy to be back on Daylight Savings Time. I LOVE having extra time in the evenings to enjoy the outdoors.

Thanks for visiting me today and have a great week!
xoxo

A Mixed Bunch

Another two cards today, from our team meeting and shoebox swap. Kathie L. designed a clean and simple (CAS) card for any occasion featuring the new Mixed Bunch stamp set. The coordinating Blossom Punch crops it perfectly after stamping. We created two and layered them after curling up the edges. The 1" Circle punch crops the center flower and a Large Pearl Jewel adorns the center. Behind the flower is a strip of Lucky Limeade embossed with the Adorning Accents (Hearts) Embossing Folder.

The card front looks elegant trimmed and embossed using the Adorning Accents Edgelits Die paired with the coordinating Embossing Folder. Inside the card, is a strip of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper - a Sale-a-bration (SAB) reward item. This pretty card could be left blank inside for writing a quick note or could be stamped with any sentiment.

This beauty was designed by Chaille and has loads of interesting texture! On a Whisper White card base we layered a Baja Breeze doily created with the new Paper Doily Large Sizzlit Die and the Big Shot. Over this, to one side, are panels of Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze and Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (SAB).  Next, two scallop circles are created using the Perfect Pennants Bigz Die. On the Whisper White circle, the large flower image from the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (SAB) was stamped using River Rock ink, followed by stamping the sentiment from Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set with Early Espresso.

And for the big finish ... the butterfly!  Another Paper Doily was die-cut using Brushed Gold card stock. The doily was adhered to River Rock card stock and then die-cut with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die. Basic Pearls give it the perfect finishing touch.

I told you these ladies create beautiful projects!

Thanks for visiting!
xoxo
