Hugs, Hearts & Kisses! New Digital Downloads

This week Stampin' Up! released brand new digital downloads, all with a love theme. There's plenty of hearts, Valentine's, and lots of love to inspire your digital (and hybrid) creativity as we head into January and a new year.

LOOK. HOW. CUTE.

Are you making New Year Resolutions for 2012?
I hear lots of paper crafters (especially scrapbookers) say they want to be more organized, start on projects sooner, and become a "Less Stressed Sally instead of Last Minute Lucy".*   LOL.
*Fictional Names/Characters. Any resemblance to a real person (living or not) is purely coincidence.

If you haven't already, now is a great time to explore creating digitally. With designer templates, digital kits, stamp brush sets and more, Stampin' Up! digital downloads can help you to create fun and fabulous cards, pages, photo books, albums, home decor and much more.

If you have any questions about Stampin' Up! digital products, leave a comment below or email me with your question(s). I'll be happy to help!

{Hearts} to YOU!

Fashionable Hearts Thank You Card

Stampin' Up! Curly Cute Thank You Card

This fashionable thank you card will make a real impression! I was certainly impressed with the terrific new options from Stampin' Up! for dry embossing (available Jan. 4 in the Occasions Mini Catalog).

Embossing Techniques with Embossing Folders

The new Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (Set of 3) are smaller sized for embossing just the edges of your cards and can be used with or without the new coordinating Edgelits Dies as I have done here on my accent panel.

Embossed and Die-Cut Mini Heart Shapes

The darling Cherry Cobbler textured hearts are embossed AND cut in one pass through the Big Shot with the new Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die.

Stamped Mini Heart Banner Greeting Card

The sweet banner (that I've wanted to make for months!) is created using the heart pennant rubber stamp from the Warmest of Wishes stamp set - the exclusive hostess reward set featured in the Holiday Mini Catalog. The banner is tied with Baker's Twine and tiny little Baja Breeze Designer Buttons from the new Twitterpated Collection (available Jan. 4).

Stampin' Up! Dazzling Details Red Glitter Glue

I accented the heart pennants with Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (glitter glue - another new product) which is going to look great on Valentine projects too.

The patterned paper is from the new Attic Boutique Collection, another sneak peek from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

This will make a darling thank you card for a special Christmas gift, don't you think? I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did, although the nasty cold bug we got on Christmas Day wasn't exactly my favorite "present". Bleh!

xoxo

A Stamp Happy Year: My Favorite Cards

I took a walk down memory lane and picked out some of my personal favorites from the past year that I've shared here at Stampingville. Wanna see? Let's take a look ...

Just Because - The Notably Ornate stamp set paired with Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.

Bliss - The gorgeous Bliss stamp set was a huge hit during the Sale-a-bration.

Bravo Birthday - Love the rich look of this embossed Bravo Burgandy Build a Blossom flower paired with Vellum.

Happy B.Day - The wide oval (punch) framed by two Decorative Labels (punch) was used on LOTS of my cards, but this one was my fav.

Happy Birthday Postage - A fun card with Pretty Postage stamp set and the Postage Stamp Punch. Neat!

Just a Little Note - Loved incorporating the play on words, textures and a dash of vintage.

Monkeying Around - Just plain fun, even cutting out those little monkeys by hand! (Fox & Friends stamp set.)

Thanks Note Card - This little note card was just darling in person. Love all the coordinating products.

Poinsettia Card - Here is another one that really jumps out at you in person. Very fun to create my own version of this popular Christmas flower.

Thanks - Sometimes the ideas in your head work out well and sometimes they don't. This time it was exactly as I envisioned and I was thrilled! Simple, but cute.

Hello, Doily Birthday - This is probably my favorite card ever. Everything came together perfectly and it's another WOW in person. Love that embossed doily - so pretty! Although this card may look complex, it's really quite simple to recreate which makes it even better!

That's it for my version of (cue Julie Andrews) " ... these are a few of my favorite things ..."!   Ha!!

There is lots of fun stuff coming up in the new year that I'm super excited for.  Stay tuned and thanks so much for visiting Stampingville!

Holiday Crafts: Christmas Home Decor

Christmas Home Decor Project Idea

I'm so excited to share this Christmas home decor project with you today. I completed it a few weeks ago, just in time for a little holiday gathering at our house. Speaking of just in time ... I was equally excited to see the current Inkspirations Challenge calling for Christmas Creations. I've been meaning to play along over there for quite some time now. Imagine my surprise (and disappointment) to learn this is the last challenge. EVER! Boo Hoo.

Handmade Holiday Home Decor Crafts

The starting point for this project is the Decor Blocks from the Definitely Decorative® product line from Stampin' Up!  These 3" natural wood blocks come ready to decorate any way you want. You can paint them, apply patterned paper (as I did here), or vinyl Decor Elements or other embellishments - the possibilities are endless. And there are a gazillion themes you can use them for. If you like the idea of lettering, think BABY for the nursery, HOME for the living room or entryway, READ for a den, library, or bookshelf, maybe even a combo of WORK/PLAY for the home office. The list goes on ...

Christmas Craft Projects Home Decorating

With the arrival of those darling stitched felt accent pieces, I knew immediately that I wanted to do a Christmas theme with the blocks. I tried to keep it fairly simple so it wouldn't be overly time consuming, but I also wanted enough detail to be interesting. I do like how the project turned out. Of course I would LOVE to know what YOU think!

Paper and Wood Handmade Christmas Decorations

I managed to sneak in a couple of digital elements in place of actual rubber stamping. I love having the additional options for stamp set images and greetings right at my fingertips with My Digital Studio™ (digital design software from Stampin' Up!).  Many images can be re-sized (within reason) to suit the proportions of your project, which is super awesome in my book!

O Christmas Tree . . .

Punched & Pieced Card Stock Christmas Tree Card

Do you have leftover scraps lying around from card making or other papercrafting projects? Put them to good use, as I did on this sparkly Christmas card. It's the perfect way to use up those oddly shaped strips and pieces of card stock. I ALWAYS save my scraps for future projects!

This holiday greeting card is loaded with fun textures starting with the Pear Pizzazz background. The snowflake trio from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set is heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. A base for the tree shape was die-cut using the largest pennant on the Perfect Pennants Bigz Die. Instead of drawing lines across the tree for placement of the strips, I used my Simply Scored Tool. (So much quicker - I just scored at 3/8" intervals.)

Layering Technique for Paper Christmas Tree

I alternated strips of Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, and Certainly Celery card stock cropped using the Eyelet Border Punch, then just snipped off any overhang. The bottom of the tree sparkles with Dazzling Details (iridescent glitter glue), and gets additional bling from Red and Silver Glimmer Paper cropped using two of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

Christmas Card Sparkly Details

For a cute but simple greeting, I colored the word "merry" from the Easy Events stamp set using red and green Stampin' Write Markers. The Word Window Punch crops it nicely and the Modern Label Punch backs it up perfectly.

Marker to Stamp Technique for Rubber Stamping

If you love decorative punches like I do, be sure to check out the Stampin' Up! online Clearance Rack Blitz going on now through January 5th. Many of the older style handheld punches have been added and you won't believe the prices! You will find savings of up to 80 percent, but only while supplies last. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Christmas Crafts: Die-Cut Stocking Gift Card Holders

Die Cut Christmas Stocking Gift Card Holder

Giving gift cards for the holidays this year? Check out these adorable gift card holders you can whip up in a flash using the Holiday Stocking Bigz Die from Stampin' Up!  These were actually little gifts I received from my Stampin' Up! team-mates at our annual Christmas party this year. Such cute and easy-to-create ideas.

The Holiday Stocking Die (and the Big Shot) does most of the work for you, then just add on a few embellishments and they are good to go. The stocking above features the Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty Designer Series Paper with a Very Vanilla cuff, toe, and heel embossed using the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Red Glimmer Paper accents really add some sparkle, topped off with a Glimmer Brad.

Christmas Crafts Gift Card Holder Stocking

Inside, there is a slot for the gift card created using the Word Window punch. (Please ignore the fake gift card I inserted - it's just for demonstration purposes!) This stocking was created using a folded piece of card stock placed just below the cut line at the top of the stocking. Additional single stocking layers were cut - one from card stock and one from designer series paper. The card stock layer was folded over and punched, then smoothed flat again.

Big Shot Christmas Crafts Project Ideas

This darling stocking is embossed using the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, with Old Olive heel and toe, and a cute pink plaid cuff adorned with Pirouette Pink Taffeta Ribbon.

Gift Card Holder Stampin' Up! Die Cut Christmas Stocking

This sweet version uses a slightly different technique for presenting the gift card. The stocking is just one layer, but the cuff folds open and reveals the gift card. (I didn't attach the gift card on this one so you could see the construction of the project.)

Aren't these the cutest?  Many thanks to my awesome stampin' buddies!
xoxo
